PlayStation Vue Prices Now Start at $39.99, Disney & ESPN Channels Added

Adding more live sports, family, and primetime TV, PlayStation Vue now includes Disney and ESPN Media Networks, Sony announced today.

Giving you access to ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, Disney Channel, and more, here’s the channel lineup and plans for the new content:

Disney/ABC Television Group

  • ABC (Access)
  • Disney Channel (Access)
  • Disney Junior (Access)
  • Disney XD (Access)
  • Freeform (Access)
  • Fusion (Elite)

ESPN

  • ESPN (Access)
  • ESPN 2 (Access)
  • ESPNU (Core
  • ESPNEWS (Core)
  • SEC Network (Core)

“With a PlayStation Vue subscription, users can access apps from Disney and ESPN Media Networks simply by logging in with their PSN login on a compatible device,” Sony’s Eric Lempel said. “Popular apps including WatchESPN, WATCH ABC and Disney Channel will be available for use at no additional cost.”

In New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, ABC local stations have also been added. Plans to add ABC video on-demand programming for Dallas and Miami will be announced at a later date.

Future channels coming to PlayStation Vue include ESPN3, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Bases Loaded, Longhorn Network, ESPN Deportes and ESPN Classic.

Sony is also running monthly promotional prices for PlayStation Vue, reducing the cost of all multi-channel plans by $10. Current subscribers will see the reduced pricing in the next billing cycle, while new subscribers get immediate access (along with a seven-day free trial):

  • Access: 60+ channels ($39.99) – includes broadcast TV, cable, movies and sports
  • Core: 75+ channels ($44.99) – includes all the channels in Access with the addition of regional sports networks
  • Elite: 100+ channels ($54.99) – features all the channels in Access and Core, with the addition of more sports channels, top movie and entertainment networks

If you’re wondering about other cities, Lempel said, “We’re listening to your feedback and are working on getting PlayStation Vue out to more cities.”
