Pushing it back by a month, developer Housemarque announced today that Alienation will be available worldwide on Tuesday, April 26, for PlayStation 4.

“While that is a few weeks later than initially planned, we’ll take advantage of all the extra time to make it even more kick-ass,” they said.

After Housemarque’s Mikael Haveri said they’ve “clearly upped their game” since Dead Nation, he added:

As you can see from the trailer, in Alienation, the Xenos are super-aggressive and cars are literally being blown sky high in the heat of battle. However, the amount of weapons at your disposal and the options to upgrade them are enormous. Heavy casualties are expected but co-operation with other UNX agents is the key to becoming an unstoppable force!

Co-Founder Ilari Kuittinen added, “We’ve always been a tech centric company and now we have the chance to prove our capabilities to the world in our most ambitious project ever.”

Here’s the full description for Alienation:

Unleash a devastating array of conventional, hybrid and Alien weaponry and eliminate the Alien masses with extreme firepower in massively destructible environments where collateral damage can literally bring the house down!

Key Features

  • Experiment with different player classes, upgrade key skills and customize weapons to create your own hero character that suits the way you play.
  • Join forces online and show off your skills in action packed co-op multiplayer or invade other players as a single minded and mercenary bounty hunter.
  • Collect loot and clues to discover the truth behind the alien invasion.
  • Track your kills and compare statistics against those of other players, and help players all around the world to stop the Aliens from taking over.

At least in Europe, Alienation will be available to pre-order from today on the PlayStation Store, complete with a 10% discount.
