Xing: The Land Beyond Confirmed for PlayStation VR, Will Support Move Controllers

Announced back in November for PlayStation 4, Xing: The Land Beyond is also coming to PlayStation VR, developer White Lotus Interactive confirmed today.

A first-person puzzle-adventure game that takes place in the afterlife, Xing‘s go-at-your-own-pace works great in virtual reality, letting you see everything it has to offer, developer Koriel Kruer said on the PlayStation Blog. He added that, during development, White Lotus always designed Xing with VR in mind, from the way you interact with objects to the atmosphere of each level.

As Kruer explained, they decided to support PSVR after a good showing at PlayStation Experience:

Our team is having a great time developing for PSVR, and is continually amazed at the potential VR brings to video games. Plus, the PlayStation VR headset is very comfortable to wear and looks totally rad. We are mainly excited that it will allow more people to be able to experience Xing in VR, and explore the detailed and vibrant world we have created in a whole new way.

In addition to a DualShock 4, you’ll also be able to use PlayStation Move controllers with Xing in VR. Along with natural object interaction and throwing mechanics, White Lotus “implemented the use of these versatile motion controllers to move around the game.”

“Our priority is, and has always been, to create a magical and entertaining experience. With PSVR and Move support, we hope to give players who are interested in the cutting edge a fantastic new way to play,” Kruer concluded.

If the original release window still holds up, expect Xing: The Land Beyond on PS4 in spring 2016. You can read our PSX preview over here.
