Zero Time Dilemma Releases on June 28 for PS Vita & 3DS

The follow-up to 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, Zero Time Dilemma is releasing on June 28 for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS. It will be a physical and digital title in North America, with Europe getting it digitally.

From Spike Chunsoft and Aksys Games, Zero Time Dilemma was shown off at a recent GDC event, where Game Informer learned that it fits between 999 and Virtue’s Last Reward chronologically, and characters from both will appear in the game. Additionally, text-heavy sections are replaced by cinematic sequences, you’ll be able to play the game out of order if you want to, you’ll sometimes be able to switch between characters who are trying to escape the same situation, there will be scenarios with randomized encounters, and it will be the final game in the Zero Escape trilogy.

As for newcomers to the series, Dilemma‘s story stands alone, but it will answer questions about events from the previous titles.

Here’s what Aksys Games said about Zero Time Dilemma when it was first announced:

Building on the success of its predecessors, Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and Virtue’s Last Reward, series mastermind Kotaro Uchikoshi has pulled out all the stops to deliver the most compelling and mind shredding gaming experience ever seen on a handheld platform. Choice is your only method of salvation and your only means of escape. How much of your humanity will you sacrifice to earn your freedom? As a new age of ruin looms large on the horizon, you must make impossible decisions and weather unimaginable consequences as you straddle the line between absolution and damnation. Plan your escape.

Zero Time Dilemma will also come to Steam at a later date.
