Defend the Stage in Loud on Planet X, Coming to PS4 & PC on April 19

An arcade-style music video game from developer Pop Sandbox, Loud on Planet X is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC on April 19 in North America and Europe for $6.99 USD/$8.99 CAD.

Featuring songs from Lights, Tegan and Sara, Purity Ring, METZ, Metric, July Talk, F*cked Up, Cadence Weapon, Austra, and more, Loud on Planet X sees you defending the stage from hordes of aliens. You do this by tapping to the music and using makeshift weapons like speakers, strobe lights, fog machines, amplifiers, bouncers, and custom special attacks.

The developer explained, “LOUD on Planet X is an exciting new indie alternative to Rock Band or Guitar Hero with a splash of Plants vs Zombies – a new hybrid of rhythm game and classic shooter with tower defence elements.”

Pop Sandbox’s Alex Jansen said:

It’s been an incredible experience working with such talented musicians and their enthusiasm for the game has been a driving force. Being able to present their likenesses along with their amazing music combined with LOUD on Planet X’s solid controls is something we’re sure fans will enjoy, so we’re looking forward to sharing it with lovers of both music and games.

Loud on Planet X includes 28 different music tracks in total (two per artist), 30 single-player campaign levels, and three original scores created by Mike Haliechuk and Jonah Falco of F*cked Up, Brendan Canning and Justin Peroff of Broken Social Scene, and Harrison.

In addition to PS4, Pop Sandbox is hoping to bring Loud on Planet X to PlayStation Vita.
