April 8, 2016 Written by Michael Briers

On the eve of release, Insomniac Games has premiered an extended gameplay demo for its Ratchet & Clank remake, which is due to make a beeline for PS4 on April 12.

Taking to PlayStation Underground, the footage offers up a new look at those alien environments, puzzle mechanics and of course, the wonderfully over-the-top arsenal.

Insomniac also touches base on development, and how the game’s release is being aligned with Sony’s imminent animated feature film, itself set for launch on April 29.

Meanwhile, here’s the official description of the PlayStation Underground episode:

One of the most iconic duos in gaming returns! Let’s play Ratchet & Clank on PS4. James from Insomniac walks us through a few of the action-packed adventures Ratchet and Clank will have in this reimagining of their origin story. With new weapons, new planets, and powerful visuals, Ratchet & Clank is a great platformer for both long-time fans and new PlayStation owners.

Our own Chandler Wood is currently journeying through the Solana Galaxy as he compiles his Ratchet & Clank review. Look for it to hit PlayStation LifeStyle early next week before the remake launches on Tuesday, April 12 in North America.

It’ll hit for those in Europe and the UK on April 20 and April 22, respectively.
