The Division Hotfix Removes Challenge Mode Glitch, Ubisoft Aware of Missing Characters

Update:

Ubisoft has offered an update on the missing character issue, confirming that your character will be restored soon:

For those who experienced the issue: your character is not gone. We are currently working on a fix that should make it available shortly. Implementing this fix will require a server downtime, and we will let you know when we are ready to perform it.

Please note however that in order to make your character available, we will need to restore the latest uncorrupted save of your entire account, which happened during the server maintenance of April 12. In other words, your character will be back just as you left it on April 12 at 9am CEST | 3am EDT | 12am PDT. You will lose any progress made on this character or any other one from the same account between April 12 and the next maintenance.

Original Story:

Following the release of The Division update 1.1 yesterday on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Ubisoft brought out a new hotfix to help fix some issues, including a glitch where you could get multiple High-End items from named enemies in Challenge mode:

General

  • Named enemies in Challenge mode will now only guarantee one High-End item like all the other named enemies
  • Several fixes to improve server stability

Incursion: Falcon Lost

  • The APC will no longer take damage from players’ weapons
  • The APC’s Mortar weapon will now fire correctly

One issue that wasn’t fixed is the missing characters, which appears to be affecting Xbox One users the most. “We are aware that some players may have seen their characters gone missing since Update 1.1. The issue is being investigated,” Ubisoft wrote. “Please note that the missing character issue will require further investigation and will not be resolved [in the latest] hotfix.”

As Ubisoft said on Reddit, “I’ve received enough player names and we’re looking into each character individually, We’ll get back to you with more information as soon as we can.”

Additionally, Ubisoft revealed earlier today that the missing Daily Challenge mode won’t be up until tomorrow:

As for the new Operation ISAC weekly assignments, the first assignment requires you to do the following to receive 30 Phoenix Credits:

  • Kill 50 Cleaners in the Dark Zone
  • Deconstruct 30 Items of Green or Higher Quality
  • Kill 30 Veteran Enemies
  • Complete 10 Main Missions on Hard Difficulty
