GameStop-Published Titles Could Release Worldwide, Says Company

US retailer GameStop recently announced the launch of its publishing label, GameTrust, having already signed on studios such as Ready at Dawn, Frozenbyte and Tequila Works. Now, the company has said that the games it will publish could be made available worldwide via other retailers. Speaking to MCV UK, GameStop ThinkGeek division’s boss, Mark Stanley, revealed that the company has been having conversations with partners in other regions.

We are completely open to that. We don’t quite have a cookie cutter model of this or that. In countries where we do have GameStop stores we do want to keep that exclusivity for our customers, but we have actually been in conversations with numerous different partners in other regions of the world where we don’t have presence, like Asia and Latin America for example, where there are big gaming communities to try and reach both digitally and through physical stores.

GameStop’s upcoming title is Insomniac Games’ Song of the Deep, which releases on July 12 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
