Along with confirming that the game isn’t coming to last-gen consoles, Activision also revealed to VideoGamer that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare won’t include a co-op campaign, as previously seen in Black Ops 3. However, there will be co-op in the Zombies mode.

While the campaign won’t include co-op, you will be able to break away from the linear story and use the UNSA Retribution to engage in different missions in a non-linear order, Design Director Jacob Minkoff revealed to IGN:

We are telling a linear story, but along the way you can choose to attack targets of opportunity, and attacking those targets of opportunity will reward you with various items and progression and loot elements that will help you to accomplish the next main mission that you accept from command.

Those missions will also “reveal optional elements of the story.”

Will you miss co-op in Infinite Warfare’s campaign?
