Doom Update 1.02 Is a 5.7GB Download on PS4, Includes FOV Slider

With copies of the game already available in some parts of the world, it’s been revealed that Doom update 1.02 is a 5.738GB download on PlayStation 4. This is in addition to the 50GB install size for the game itself.

Update: Bethesda said, “PS4 players: Be sure to install the Day 1 Update by enabling automatic updates. It provides improvements such as the FOV slider.”

Official patch notes aren’t available, but a Reddit user posted that the PS4’s Update History says it includes “minor fixes” and adds Trophies.

If you’re planning on buying Doom, here’s when the servers go live on May 13 for PS4 and Xbox One:

  • New Zealand @ 12 am local time
  • Australia @ 12 am local time
  • North America @ 12 am ET
  • Europe @ 12 am local time
  • Asia – 12 am local time.
  • Japan – 12 am local time on May 19th

In other Doom news, Bethesda announced that a Doom-inspired car will premiere at the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis on May 14. Driven by Mikhail Aleshin, the No. 7 car will compete in the Indianapolis 500 on May 29.
