Kojima Productions’ First Game Will Use a Third-Party Engine
At the Nordic Game 2016 festival, Hideo Kojima revealed that part of the reason behind his world tour was to look for a third-party engine that Kojima Productions’ debut game will utilize. He did say that he prefers in-house tools but didn’t want fans to wait too long to get their hands on his first post-Konami game.
I actually think it’s better to make games using internal tools. As for my first title, because I want to release it to the people who are waiting for it, for that title we are going to use a third-party engine – the reason I am travelling around the world is looking for such technology to use.
While revealing his studio’s icon recently, Kojima said, “We’ll deliver THE NEW PLAY in THE NEW FUTURE with the cutting-edge equipment, technology, & the frontier spirit.”
He didn’t specify what engine he’ll be using or if he’s selected one yet.
