Ninja Theory’s Latest Hellblade Dev Diary Focuses on Combat

Continuing to peel back the layers of its Celtic-themed actioner, developer Ninja Theory has today premiered an all-new dev diary for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

Arriving via PS Blog, the snippet — clocking in as episode 23 in the studio’s series — takes you behind the scenes on how the creative team are building the combat system, one said to be more “immediate” than previous Ninja Theory games such as Enslaved and Heavenly Sword

Meanwhile, the studio’s Dominic Matthews took to PS Blog to offer a status report on how Hellblade is progressing in development, though there’s still no mention of a release date.

Hellblade development continues at full speed here at Ninja Theory. As our combat group continues to develop Senua’s combat, the rest of the team are turning their attention to different areas of the game.

We’re regularly shooting scenes for the game in our in-house homemade performance capture studio and we are excited to be continuing our work with a great group of actors that are performing the various voices that Senua hears throughout our journey.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is pegged for a simultaneous release across PS4 and PC.
