E3 2016 – Sony Says All Games Are Running on a Standard PS4, God of War Was Played Live

With PlayStation Europe’s Jim Ryan saying all PlayStation VR games were running on the regular PlayStation 4 console at E3, and not the PS4 Neo, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed on Twitter that everything is running on a standard system:

As for the lengthy God of War demo played during Sony’s press conference, Technical Director Mihir Sheth confirmed that it was played live. “The demo that you saw was running on a regular PS4 … and it was a live demo played at the press conference, contrary to what people are saying,” he told the Daily Star.

Discussing the resources and crafting element of God of War, Sony Santa Monica said the upgrades would extend to Kratos’ son:

There are resources, components of exploration and the key thing I do want to point out is that all those upgrades and the progression we’re building, it’s not just limited to Kratos, it’s Kratos and his son.

It was also hinted that a photo mode could be added to God of War, but it’s “another detail we’re holding off on for now,” they said.
