PlayStation Vue Out Now on Android, New Features Coming for PS4, PS3

Announced last week, the PlayStation Vue Android app is now out today for compatible smartphones and tablets, which can be downloaded here.

Additionally, Sony has announced a few new features  to the PlayStation Vue app on PS4 and PS3.  These include for the PS4: quicker way to preview rewind/fast-forward content and your fave channels duplicated in “Guide” so favorite channels can be seen upfront with the rest of the channel lineup in alphabetical order. Additional user interface (UI) improvements have also been added to both the PS4 and PS3 apps.

The big additions, however, can be checked out below.

Quick Navigation on PS4 and PS3

There’s a new Quick Navigation menu that appears over your show, so you can get to a couple of places quicker. Quickly jump to “last channel” (one of the most highly requested features), My Shows, Guide, Explore, and Search instantly while you are watching a show. Press the touchpad of your DualShock 4, or hold down Triangle on your DualShock 3 and the Quick Navigation will pop up.

Finally, Sony will roll out improvements to the Amazon Fire TV PS Vue app as well, which includes Quick Navigation, and a new update that brings 60 frames-per-second videos output to 2nd gen Android Fire TVs at a still undisclosed date.

What improvements should Sony introduce to PS Vue? Once we get more news, we’ll let you know.
