PS4 Remastered Games: What Went Right and Wrong

While many gamers will roll their eyes at the announcement of yet another game of yesteryear being remastered, I typically get excited. After all, what’s wrong with a title potentially getting exposed to a new generation of gamers, and gaining a second chance to fix some flaws. It’s not like there’s a dearth of new releases to play, so these re-releases help fill out the release calendar.

That said, not all PS4 remastered games are created equal. Some are painstakingly redone with care and feel like a much better game than the original, while others feel like a cash-in. To help readers figure out which remastered titles have done a good job, and which have failed, I’ve taken a look back at 10 high profile PS4 remastered games.

As you can see from the list, there have certainly been some excellent PS4 remastered games release this generation. The bar has been set pretty high, and hopefully developers will put more care into remasters as they continue to get made. Let’s hope for more games that are more like Odin Sphere and less Dead Island.

Let us know in the comments below what PS4 remastered games you’ve played, and which developer has done the best job at bringing their past games to PlayStation 4.
