Square Enix announced today that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available on October 11 in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, priced at $59.99 USD.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and Nixxes Software, the PS4 version is titled Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration and includes a new story chapter titled Blood Ties, PlayStation VR support for Blood Ties, new co-op Endurance gameplay, all of the previously released DLC, and additional outfits, weapons, and Expedition Cards.

Here’s what to expect from Blood Ties:

“Blood Ties,” a new premium DLC, beckons players to explore Croft Manor in a new story mode; then defend it against a zombie invasion in “Lara’s Nightmare”. When Lara’s uncle contests ownership of the Manor, Lara must explore the estate to find proof that she is the rightful heir, or lose her birthright and father’s secrets for good. Players can then test their zombie-killing skills in the replayable “Lara’s Nightmare” mode: a haunted Croft Manor where players have new challenges and must rid the Manor of an evil presence.

With PlayStation VR, Blood Ties will be playable in first-person.

And here’s what you’ll find with the new Endurance gameplay:

In addition, for the first time in a Tomb Raider game, a new online co-op expansion to Endurance mode lets fans raid tombs in a brutal wilderness together. Two players must team up to survive the harsh elements by day, as well as lethal threats from enemies by night. Fire takes fuel, food restores health, and every resource must be hunted, collected, or crafted. Battle to the top of the leaderboards, as others try to beat your longest survival run.

Other additional content includes a re-envisioned version of the cold-weather outfit and the Hailstorm pistol from Tomb Raider III, a special classic Lara card pack that lets you replay the game with five classic Lara models from the games over the years (including the original Lara), the new Extreme Survivor difficulty setting where all checkpoints are stripped from the game and you have to save by lighting campfires, and all previously released DLC: the three hour story addition Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, Cold Darkness Awakened in which players must combat waves of infected predators, 12 DLC outfits, seven DLC weapons, over 35 Expedition Cards, and more.

As Square Enix adds, “With the exception of VR support, all of the new content in Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration will also be available for Xbox One and PC players.” There won’t be a Season Pass on PS4, and all of the additional content in the PS4 version will be added to the Xbox One/PC Season Pass.

Scot Amos, Co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics, said:

When we were planning the PS4 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider, our very first imperative was to outdo anything we’d done before, such as our definitive editions. A mere “Game of the Year” wouldn’t satisfy us, or our fans. We knew that our PlayStation community both deserved and demanded more than that. So we’re working with our long-time partner Nixxes Software to make this version truly special.

In the Rise of the Tomb Raider FAQ, Square Enix adds that Blood Ties is roughly 60 minutes long.
