Next Rocket League Update Will Have Something “People Have Been Asking for in Different Forms”

On August 6 and 7, the Rocket League Championship Series will take place in Los Angeles, California. According to Psyonix Vice President Jeremy Dunham, it’s also where they’ll start promoting the next Rocket League update – “and wait ’til people see it,” he teased.

Speaking with IGN, Dunham revealed that “we’ve got something brewing that a lot of people have been asking for in different forms but is also very surprising. It’s going to be interesting, but it’s going to be cool too.”

He wouldn’t give any hints about the update, so what’s included is purely left up to speculation right now.

Addressing their plans for Year 2, Dunham said they don’t want to get in the way of people playing the game in the way they love:

That’s why a lot of the modes that we’ve introduced – Snow Day, Hoops, the Mutators, and some of the things we have planned for the future – are coming in to supplement what we’ve done as the base game, to give people options and feed their curiosity without taking away from what keeps them coming back.

“Several major updates” are scheduled for the rest of the year and will add new content, new features, and new content.

Keeping in mind that it probably isn’t cross-play, what do you think Psyonix is adding in the next update?
