Report: PS4 Neo to Be Revealed at an Event on September 7

Following the initial report from French site Gameblog, Vice Gaming has said they’ve heard from multiple sources that Sony will officially reveal the PlayStation 4 Neo on Wednesday, September 7 at an event in New York.

According to one source, the event will be a “technical showcase,” while another said finalized development kits will be sent out to developers around that time.

Vice says the sources are “familiar with the planned rollout for the new machine,” but have chosen to remain anonymous because they aren’t allow to publicly speak about Sony’s plans.

PlayStation France declined to comment on the report when contacted by Gameblog.

Back in June, a report said Sony was expected to announce the PS4 Neo and a slim PS4 in September, with Tokyo Game Show in mid-September the likely candidate for the announcement. As Gameblog suggests, the PS4 Neo reveal event could have been moved up to September 7 because Nintendo might unveil the NX on September 12.
