Square Enix: The Final Fantasy XV DLC Isn’t Content Cut From the Main Game

After Square Enix gave out official details for the Final Fantasy XV Season Pass yesterday, Community Manager Dan Seto went on the official blog to state that the post-launch DLC wasn’t cut from the main game. Instead, it’s designed to add new and unique experiences to the game’s universe:

The FFXV DLC is not content that has been cut from the main game just to sell to you later. This is really important because we want everyone who buys and plays the FFXV base game to know they are getting the full FFXV experience. The FFXV DLC will add new and unique experiences to the FFXV Universe with each piece of DLC designed to offer something brand new. So I’ll say it again because it’s important – the FFXV DLC is not content that has been cut from the main game!

If you’re wondering why Square Enix hasn’t shown off any of the DLC yet, it’s because development won’t begin until after Final Fantasy XV releases on September 30. “The truth is that the DLC is not ready to show because while it has been designed, we will begin the development once the final game is in your hands,” he said.

Here’s a recap of what’s included in the Season Pass:

  • DLC 1: Booster Pack (Working Title)
  • DLC 2: Episode Gladio (Working Title)
  • DLC 3: Holiday Pack (Working Title)
  • DLC 4: Episode Ignis (Working Title)
  • DLC 5: Episode Prompto (Working Title)
  • DLC 6: Expansion Pack (Working Title)

The Season Pass Upgrade is $24.99 USD for owners of Final Fantasy XV.
