Final Destiny Trials of Osiris Event for PS3 & Xbox 360 Starts Today

In their latest weekly update, Bungie revealed that this weekend’s Trials of Osiris event (August 26 through 30) in Destiny will be the last for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players. After August 30, Trials of Osiris will no longer appear within the Director on the Legacy Consoles. As Bungie adds in the FAQ for Legacy Consoles, August 30 will also see the end of Iron Banner and Live Events (such as Festival of the Lost and Crimson Days).

The events and activities that will still be available on Legacy Consoles include Heroic Missions and Strikes, daily and weekly Crucible challenges, Raids and Boss Challenges, Prison of Elders and Challenge of Elders, and Armsday Foundry Orders and Test Weapons. Xur will also continue to appear in the Tower or the Reef, but individual Exotic Weapons and Armor pieces will no longer be sold.

As for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Destiny, Trials of Osiris will go on hiatus after the weekend of September 2. It will then return on September 30 at 10am PT/1pm ET. If you want to continue playing Trials of Osiris on PS4 or Xbox One, you’ll need to buy Rise of Iron, which launches on September 20.

Bungie also addressed the fact that the digital version of Destiny may be showing up as free for some players. Although you’re able to download the base game, you’ll only be granted access to the Trial Mode for free. “If players wish to progress through the original Destiny adventure via digital download, they will be required to purchase Destiny – The Collection to gain access to this content,” they add. Destiny is no longer included with the digital version of The Taken King.
