When the PlayStation 4 Pro launches on November 10, many PS4 games will receive updates to take advantage of the 4K features and added power in the new console, with Sony referring to this feature as “forward compatibility.” Numerous developers have already promised PS4 Pro support for their games, and we’ve compiled a list below of some of the announced forward compatible titles below:

  • Battlefield 1
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
  • FIFA 17
  • inFamous First Light
  • Mantis Burn Racing
  • Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
  • Paragon
  • PES 2017
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • The Witness
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

*Note: Some PS4 games yet to be released, but still coming before November 10, may include forward compatibility out of the box without the need for an update. You should also expect more first-party and third-party games to support forward compatibility in the future.

Naughty Dog said, “We can’t wait for everyone to experience Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Remastered on the PS4 Pro.” Neil Druckmann added, “Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us look stellar in HDR. Higher-res is cool too, but man… those sunsets in HDR…”

For Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on PS4 Pro, Eidos Montreal said, “With PS4 Pro, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has had a whole new layer of detail added to it: overall resolution increased, aliasing reduced, reflective surfaces improved, and more detailed lighting effects implemented, all without compromising the frame rate or the gaming experience.”

For The Elder Scrolls Online on PS4 Pro, Bethesda said, “When the PlayStation 4 Pro launches in November, The Elder Scrolls Online will be immediately playable in native 4K resolution, whether purchased new, or with existing game discs. Since the game was originally designed for a wide range of PC specifications, ZeniMax Online Studios was able to scale up the presentation alongside the scaled up power of the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro. For players, this means that if you play The Elder Scrolls Online on PlayStation 4 Pro with a 1080p HD television, you will experience increased graphical fidelity; if a player uses a 4K monitor, the game will automatically run in 4K.”

Confirming that all PS4 games work on PS4 Pro – even those without forward compatibility updates – Sony said, “Yes, all existing PS4 games are fully compatible with PS4 Pro. Developers are able to add PS4 Pro enhancements to previously released PS4 games via a downloadable update if they choose to.”
