For the second straight month the Xbox One was the best-selling console in the United States, beating the PlayStation 4 once again. Xbox Games Marketing Head Aaron Greenberg celebrated their console victory on Twitter:

Along with calling Xbox Live “the fastest, most reliable gaming network,” Xbox marketing boss Mike Nichols said in a statement, “Thanks to our fans and their excitement for new Xbox One games and the recently launched Xbox One S — which is the only console available this holiday with built-in UHD 4K Blu-ray, 4K video streaming, and HDR for video and gaming — Xbox One was the best-selling console in the U.S. in August, according to NPD Group.”
It remains to be seen if the Xbox One was the #1 selling platform in August (3DS won in July), so stay tuned for the full August 2016 NPD report later this month.
