Resident Evil 7 Trailer Shows Combat, Demo Gets Updated, Deluxe Edition Price Increases

Downloaded over three million times since launch in June, the Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour demo for PlayStation 4 is getting an update today. When the new Twilight version of the demo is live, all PS4 owners will be able to download the Resident Evil 7 demo for free, even if you don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription.

“If you haven’t played the demo yet, it will be a great time to investigate the dilapidated corridors and uncover the mansion’s mysteries,” Capcom adds.

In other Resident Evil 7 news, Capcom announced that the PlayStation Store’s Digital Deluxe Edition will go from $79.99 USD to $89.99 USD today. Bundling together the game and Season Pass, Capcom is raising the price because the Deluxe Edition has been upgraded to include another playable episode, bringing the total of additional pieces of content from two to three. “Anyone who previously pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition in North America on the PlayStation Store will automatically be upgraded to the new deluxe edition at no additional charge,” they said.

By pre-ordering Resident Evil 7, you’ll receive the Survival Pack, which includes consumable healing items, an early unlock of the insanely difficult Madhouse mode (normally unlocks after beating the game once), and a mysterious Lucky Coin in-game defense item. In North America, pre-ordering digitally also gets you a dynamic theme.

Finally, the above new trailer gives you a look at some of the combat and an unforgettable feast with the Baker family.

Head over to the PlayStation Store (North America, Europe) to grab the Deluxe Edition and free demo.
