Final Fantasy XV DLC

Game Director Claims That Final Fantasy XV DLC “Will Be Extremely Valuable”

During an interview at Tokyo Game Show this week, Final Fantasy XV Game Director Hajime Tabata talked a bit about the game’s Season Pass of DLC. While he didn’t have many details to offer at this time, he did boast that the DLC would be “extremely valuable” to the consumer, providing a solid bang for the player’s buck.

Once the development on the main game ends, and once we can pick up the pace on the DLC development, we’ll be sure to communicate all the details. Unfortunately at this time, we don’t have all the assets or information to do a full blown communication of what it entails. That said, that is forthcoming. That said, our overarching plan is confirmed in that we do want to place focus on each of the characters, not only in the episode, but making sure that their personality comes through in the gameplay as well. So that plan, overarching plan is confirmed, so we are confident to say the DLC content that we will be pushing out will be extremely valuable and our consumers will find value in what we offer.

The Season Pass costs around the same as many Season Passes do at $25, and it includes six pieces of content. Two are in-game item packs, three appear to be new mission content, and one is called an “Expansion Pack.” The full list, all with working titles, is below:

  • DLC 1: Booster Pack (Working Title)
  • DLC 2: Episode Gladio (Working Title)
  • DLC 3: Holiday Pack (Working Title)
  • DLC 4: Episode Ignis (Working Title)
  • DLC 5: Episode Prompto (Working Title)
  • DLC 6: Expansion Pack (Working Title)

I’m sure they’ll come up with weird titles for each that will make Kingdom Hearts jealous.

Final Fantasy XV will release on November 29, 2016.
