Snow Enters Paid Beta on October 18 for PS4

Described as “the only free-to-play open-world winter sports game,” Snow will enter Beta on October 18 for PlayStation 4, but you’ll have to pay for it, developer Poppermost Productions announced.

To gain access to the Snow Beta on October 18, you’ll need to spend $19.99 on the Founder’s Pack, which includes over $30 of in-game content (Ski Outfit, Snowboard Outfit) and some PS4 exclusive items (Gold Snowmobile, Gold Drone). Additionally, PlayStation Plus members will get a free bundle of 80s-inspired clothing and equipment.

The Beta will include these three modes of play: skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiles.

If you don’t want to spend any money on Snow, it will go free-to-play this winter when the game officially launches for PS4.

In a statement to Polygon, Poppermost explained why Snow is paid on PS4 at Beta launch. “This is like how we did it with the PC version, where we want to limit the userbase while we make some last improvements to the game,” they said.
