Battlefield 1 Preload Option Goes Live for PS4 on October 16

Are you ready for Battlefield 1? That’s the question asked by DICE’s latest blog post, designed to educate players across all platforms about the shooter’s imminent launch.

Those who pre-order the Early Enlister edition, for instance, can hop into the game from October 18. And not a moment too soon, considering that a PSN listing spotted by BFcentral (see below) appears to reveal that the option to preload Battlefield 1 will go live for PlayStation 4 on October 16. This date applies to both the North America and European storefronts, with early estimates claiming the shooter will occupy 42GB of space on your hard drive.

In preparation for launch day, DICE offers the following advice to PS4 owners:

If you’re playing on a new PlayStation 4, don’t forget to link your EA Account to your PlayStation™Network Online ID.

If you’ve pre-ordered an Early Enlister edition, make sure you redeem your pre-order code:

Launch the PlayStation Store on your PlayStation 4.

Select Redeem Codes from the Store menu.

Enter your code and follow the on-screen instructions.

Whereas October 18 is the earliest possible date that PS4 players can access Battlefield 1, for the sake of comparison, those with Origin Access or EA Access memberships (read: on Xbox One/PC) will be able to start playing from October 13.

Battlefield 1 launches across all platforms on October 21. Curious as to how DICE’s period shooter is shaping up so close to release? Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle over the coming days as we’ll have plenty of BF1 content hitting the site.
