Killing Floor 2 Open Beta Starts November 4, PS4 Pro Trailer Released
If you want to play co-op sci-fi horror shooter Killing Floor 2 before release on November 18, developer Tripwire Interactive has announced that a multiplayer open beta will run from Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 6 on PlayStation 4. The beta officially begins at 10am PT/1pm ET on Friday, and you should be able to grab the client from the PlayStation Store at that time.
With the beta, you’ll be able to try out 14 characters, nine Perk Classes, one offline Training Mission, three maps (Burning Paris, Biotics Lab, Evac Point), and two multiplayer modes (Survival and Versus Survival).
Tripwire Interactive then explained that Killing Floor 2 played on a PS4 Pro will benefit from enhanced resolution, memory, and performance:
First on the point of resolution for players that have a 4K TV and a PS4 Pro. Killing Floor 2 runs at a higher 1800p resolution that is then upscaled to 4K 2160p resolution, unlocking the gaming potential of your 4K screen. The extra resolution increases overall environment, weapon, and character detail beyond what is perceivable on a 1080p display.
You’ll also find better looking environment details such as foliage and distant level meshes, ultra textures that “add extra surface detail to everything in the game including first-person weapons, arms, zeds, and the levels themselves,” an increased frame-rate, and an increased dynamic shadow resolution.
You can see 4K PS4 Pro footage of Killing Floor 2 in the above trailer.
On PS4, Killing Floor 2 costs $39.99 USD/€39.99/£34.99 and includes this bonus content from the PC’s Deluxe Digital Edition:
- Killing Floor 2 Digital Artbook
- DJ Skully
- Classic Masterson
