In a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Square Enix offers up a look at the gameplay and cutscenes of the PlayStation 4 collection, all set to Simple and Clean Ray of Hope Mix, a remix version of the theme by Utada Hikaru.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 launches on January 24, 2017, and it includes Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD; Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –, a playable episode that stars Aqua, takes place after Birth By Sleep, and links to the story of Kingdom Hearts III; and Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover, an HD movie that tells the story of the Foretellers.
Square Enix adds that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 is “the final update leading up to the highly-anticipated entry in the franchise, Kingdom Hearts III, which will conclude Xehanort’s Dark Seeker Saga.” We should hear more about KHIII after HD 2.8 is released.
In Japan, Square Enix will offer a special Kingdom Hearts 15th Anniversary 500GB and 1TB PS4 Slims through the Sony Store. Japan’s also getting the Champion Summon: Sora DLC for World of Final Fantasy on January 12 (the same day HD 2.8 comes out), suggesting that North America and Europe will get the DLC on January 24.
If you want more Kingdom Hearts in 2017, don’t forget that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix is out on March 28 for PS4.
