Update 2 (10:10am PT): Looks like Destiny is having some issues, with Bungie saying, “We are aware of issues preventing players from connecting to Destiny on all platforms.”
Update (9:20am PT): Sony says the PSN is back online.
Original Story: Following thousands of reports, Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation Network is down on PlayStation 4, and players are experiencing maintenance notifications.
According to the PSN Network Service Status page, Gaming and Social is the only affected aspect of the PSN, with Sony adding, “You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”
Ask PlayStation also tweeted: “We’re aware that some users are experiencing issues logging into PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate.”
Suggesting the issues are also on PlayStation 3, Bungie says, “We are aware of issues preventing players from connecting to Destiny on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms.”
