The King of Fighters XIV Free DLC Out Today Alongside Patch 1.10 Details

SNK has announced that it’s releasing some free DLC for The King of Fighters XIV today, which includes a new DLC costume and some PlayStation 4 themes for the fan-favorite pop-idol Athena Asamiya.

The DLC is based on the character’s King of Fighters ’98 look, which SNK says has always remained a popular choice among fans. As for the PS4 themes, you’ll get a “Santa Girls” theme in time for the holiday and an “Athena All Stars” theme that showcases her styles over the years.

Bear in mind that the new DLC costume is free from now until January 22 for everyone, after which it becomes a paid download.

Elsewhere, SNK talked a bit more about the previously announced update 1.10:

Our development team has been working hard to respond to some of the feedback we have received from fans and Ver. 1.10 marks a large step forward in improving the game’s visual presentation in particular.

With this update, aspects such as the shaders and lighting have been upgraded to improve the overall visuals. We also listened to your feedback regarding color variations, and will be increasing the total number per character from 4 to 6.

Update 1.10 will launch on January 11, 2017. Prior to this, SNK will release a “special Demo Ver. 2” so players can get a taste of what’s to come.
