Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood Expansion Release Date and Info Revealed

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV‘s upcoming expansion, Stormblood, will release on June 20, 2017. First revealed in October, the MMORPG will be getting the Red Mage job, a new beast tribe, a new primal, new raid, and the ability to swim and dive in certain areas.

The developer has yet to release all the details officially but here’s some information nabbed from the Fan Festival in Tokyo courtesy of Siliconera:

Red Mage will be a hybrid melee and ranged magic DPS, and will use a rapier as a primary weapon, as well as a magicked crystal medium. The job will have the ability to chain magic, and its playstyle is achieved via “high-speed positioning.”

The new beast tribe is called Ananta, a “serpent-like race inhabits the mountains near Ala Mhigo and excel in spell- and gemcraft.” And the new primal is Lakshmi, “the Lady of Bliss.”

As for the raid, it’s called “The Bend of Time – Omega.” The 24-person alliance raid is called “Return to Ivalice.”

We’ll update our readers when we have the official press release or details.

Don’t forget that Final Fantasy XV is also set to receive patch 3.5 in January. Square Enix has yet to release patch notes but you can find a preview of the main scenario, new dungeons and more here.
