Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo franchise, which saw its first release in 1996. To mark the occasion, the developer released a video (above), in which some of those who worked on the series share their favorite memories.
Diablo‘s 20th anniversary will be celebrated across all of Blizzard’s current titles including Overwatch. While we already know about Diablo III‘s in-game events including The Darkening of Tristram, Overwatch is set to receive in-game sprays representing Diablo III classes as well as a new player icon modeled after the Lord of Terror.
Over on its website, Blizzard wrote:
Whether you first played Diablo two days or two decades ago, we want to thank you for bringing your unrelenting passion to the franchise. Your support and feedback continue to help us shape the world of Sanctuary, and it’s a true honor and privilege to walk alongside you on this journey.
