Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 on PS4 Have the Same Content as the PS3 Versions

When Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix come to PlayStation 4 in March as part of the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, they won’t have any additional content over the PlayStation 3 versions.

Asked by Dengeki Online about any possible changes to the 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, Director Tetsuya Nomura said (translated by Google Translate):

The contents are the same as the two HD remaster in the past. Because six games are recorded on one game disc of PS4, it is easier to play.

Back when Square Enix brought the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster to PS4, they added cross-save functionality and the ability to switch between the original and remastered music in Final Fantasy X.

The final box art for the Remix hasn’t been revealed by Square Enix yet, but Nomura says you shouldn’t expect any changes from the PS3 versions:

I do not think so. Because three illustrations are connected to KH 1.5, KH 2.5, KH 2.8 packages, meaning will not connect if you draw newly.

Those who think, ‘What?’, please arrange three illustrations and see the poses and background of Sora.

The 1.5 + 2.5 Remix is priced at $49.99 USD, includes everything on one disc, and will have 60 frames-per-second gameplay. Here’s the games packed into the collection:

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix

  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD remastered cinematics)

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix

  • Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded

Nomura also touched on Kingdom Hearts III in the interview, saying, “Since 2017 is the 15th anniversary of the KH series, there are plenty of commemorative events represented by concerts, so if possible we would like to take advantage of such opportunities to also include information on KHIII, but we have not decided yet. I am sorry I am sorry but please wait for a while.”
