Dishonored 2 Update on January 23 Adds Mission Select, Custom Difficulties

On Monday, January 23, Arkane and Bethesda will deliver Dishonored 2 Game Update 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, adding Custom Difficulty settings and Mission Restart/Select. PC players will be able to download a beta version of the update on January 18.

With Mission Restart/Select, you’ll be able to replay any mission you unlock. As Bethesda notes, “These selectable missions will retain the status of your playthrough at the start of that mission (character, chaos, runes, money, choices, etc).”

With Custom Difficulty settings, you’ll find more than 20 different sliders that adjust things like how quickly Sleep Darts take effect, how many active enemies are likely to attack you at once, and how effective you are leaning from behind a barrier when skulking around.

Additionally, you’ll be able to select Iron Mode when starting a new game in Dishonored 2. Featuring permadeath and removing the ability to manually save or load, Lead Designer Dinga Bakada said of the new mode, “Iron Mode adds even more teeth to Dishonored 2. You will have to live with the consequences of your actions, or die permanently because of them.”

Game Update 2 will also include other new and improved features based on player feedback. Expect full patch notes closer to launch.
