Overwatch Crosses 25 Million Players

Released in May 2016, Overwatch now has more than 25 million players, Blizzard announced on Twitter yesterday.

“The world needs heroes, and over 25 MILLION have answered the call! The fight for the future isn’t over yet, though… Are you with us?” they wrote.

Back in October, the player count was at 20 million.

If the parameters for player tracking are the same as they were in August, the 25 million number comes from “box and digital sales, internet game room players, and multi-user console households.”

Currently, Blizzard is running the Year of the Rooster event, which includes the Capture the Rooster game mode and more than 100 seasonal cosmetic items. A bug was introduced with Mei’s Luna and Chang’e skins, and it will be fixed in the next patch.

If you’re looking to buy a digital copy of Overwatch, it’s currently on sale for £27.99 in Europe and $53.99 USD/$49.79 USD in North America.
