Overwatch Adds Server Browser, Mutators in Next Patch

Blizzard is about to add even more content to their popular team-based first-person shooter. In the Irvine, California-based studio’s latest developer update video (which you can watch on Blizzard’s YouTube channel) Game Director Jeff Kaplan explained that a number of changes are coming in an upcoming patch. These include some heavily requested features that will be sure to make fans happy.

The biggest addition to the game is that players will now be able to select which server they want to play a custom game on. The list will be separated by regions, making it easier for players to find the closest servers. Fans have been vocal about wanting the feature ever since Overwatch released on May 23, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Another addition is that Capture The Rooster, the game’s Capture The Flag mode that was originally a limited-time event, will now be in the game permanently as a custom game mode. To help flesh it out, 9 more Overwatch maps have been tweaked to work for the mode (only three maps were in the timed event). This is all part of a bigger push for custom matches, as players can now gain experience in this game mode as well. Players will even be able to change specific mutators (such as changing how capture the flag works by modifying pickup times and other options).

Let us know in the comments if you’re looking forward to the major custom mode upgrades in Overwatch, and if you enjoyed Capture The Rooster.
