Rumors of an Assassin’s Creed game with an Egyptian setting, code named Empire, have been floating the web for quite a while now. In January last year, reports surfaced that Ubisoft had pushed the game to 2017 and then we saw some screenshots back in October, which suggested that title was still in development.

At least one other screenshot appeared on Reddit as recently as this past February but we didn’t make much of it. However, VG247 has now spotted a new listing for Assassin’s Creed Empire on Swiss retailer WOG’s website, with a release window of fourth quarter, 2017. You can see the listing below in case it disappears.

There’s nothing to suggest that this entry is authentic and that’s a stock box image but it’s not unheard of for early retailer listings to leak games prior to their official announcements. At this point, only Ubisoft can put this rumor to rest by either confirming or denying reports that have been making rounds for such a long time.

We’ll keep you posted.
