Elite: Dangerous Legendary Edition Gets a Retail Release Later This Year

Frontier Developments has announced that it’s teaming up with distributor Sold Out (The Banner Saga, Overcooked) to bring its space adventure, Elite: Dangerous, to retail. Boxed versions of the Legendary Edition will be out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

The retail edition includes the base game, Horizons expansion and 1,000 Frontier points.

Last December, Frontier said that it’ll bring Elite: Dangerous to PS4 in Q2 this year with all expansions to date, the full Horizons Season Pass, and following features for DualShock 4:

  • Touch Navigation – Explore Elite Dangerous’ map of the Milky Way with a swipe using touch pad controls that make navigation fast and easy.
  • Extra Control – Customize four additional touchpad ‘hotkeys’ to suit your own play style.
  • Fast Headlook – Quickly track your enemies in the heat of combat with optional motion-based headlook controls powered by the DualShock 4 wireless controller.

No release date or further details are available at this time but we’ll update our readers when we have more info.
