Destiny Undergoing Maintenance Next Week, Support Will Continue Beyond Destiny 2’s Release

Bungie has announced that it’ll be taking Destiny‘s servers offline for maintenance next week on Thursday, May 4. If all goes according to plan, maintenance will begin at 10AM PT and will last for four hours until 2PM PT.

In a note on its weekly blog, the developer reassured fans that support and server maintenance for the game will continue “through the release of Destiny 2 and beyond.” Those who want to continue playing the original will be able to report any issues that they encounter, which Bungie promises to continue addressing at least “for the foreseeable future,” as we were told earlier this month.

As for Destiny 2, invitations for a gameplay reveal event have already started going out. The premiere will take place on May 18 via a live event in Los Angeles. PlayStation LifeStyle will be in attendance so check back for updates.

The sequel releases on September 8 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
