Nioh Update 1.07 & 1.08 Add Dragon of the North DLC Support, Online PvP Mode

With the Dragon of the North DLC out today, Team Ninja has released Nioh update 1.07 on PlayStation 4, which is a 6.3GB download and adds support for the new content and PvP mode. Shortly after 1.07 was made available, Team Ninja brought out update 1.08, which is a 991MB download and reduces the cost of female skins by 20,000, players show.

Here’s the patch notes for Nioh update 1.07, according to the PS4’s Update History:

  • Added content for add-on 1
  • Added an online PvP mode
  • Expands functionality
  • Adjusted game balance
  • Fixes various bugs

Dragon of the North is included in the Nioh Season Pass, or can be purchased separately for £7.99 (likely $9.99 USD). It’s up on the European PlayStation Store right now, and should be up in North America just after 8am PT/11am ET.

Here’s the description:

Return once more to the Yokai infested landscape of Japan’s warring states and venture deep into its embattled northern provinces.

In this story expansion for NiohDragon of the North follows William’s valiant struggle in the main game and opens up the Oshu region, where ambitious ruler Masamune Date is secretly gathering spirit stones.

Encounter fearsome enemies and allies across three distinct stages, and develop William’s combat skills further with powerful new Ninjutsu, Onmyo magic and Guardian Spirits. Plus, discover legendary armour sets and weapons, including the Odachi great katana.

This add-on is also included as part of the Nioh Season Pass, alongside the Defiant Honour and Bloodshed’s End expansion packs.

If you’re planning on playing Dragon of the North, several players have suggested backing up your save before doing so due to crashes on the first level. “I experienced 3 crashes when I reached the 3rd shrine in the first mission,” one player said. “I have a digital copy of the game and a quick restart of the PS4 solved the problem.”
