Speedrunner Beats Prey in Less Than 20 Minutes

Prey has only been out for a few days and someone has already beaten it in under 20 minutes. A couple of days ago, Twitch streamer DraQu posted the video of his successful world record setting time, which was clocked at 19 minutes and 34 seconds.

DraQu was able to achieve his amazingly fast run through the game by taking advantage of several unconventional paths and areas that players aren’t meant to traverse, making liberal use of the GLOO Cannon to not only reach said not-meant-to-be-accessed areas but to also get through them quickly.

For comparison, Prey is estimated to be around a 20-hour game on a regular playthrough, which makes this DraQu’s 20-minute run even more impressive.

Less than 24 hours before this achievement, DraQu’s previous speedrun attempt clocked at around 44 minutes and 6 seconds, which is equally impressive and also shows just how big of an improvement he was able to make as he was able to cut that time in half in less than a day.

Prey is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and other platforms. Check out our review of the game here.
