PaRappa and Gitaroo Man Creators Collaborating on New Rhythm Action Game

NanaOn-Sha’s Masaya Matsuura (PaRappa the Rapper, Vib-Ribbon) and iNis’ Keiichi Yano (Gitaroo Man) have announced that they’re teaming up to work on Project Rap Rabbit, which is described as “a new story-driven, rhythm-action adventure” game.

A teaser website, a Twitter account and a Facebook profile have already been set up but they reveal little information so we’ll have to wait to find out more. In the meantime, you can check out a teaser trailer above.

The much loved PaRappa the Rapper was first introduced in 1996, and made his latest appearance in a remastered version for the PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, however, the game didn’t live up to expectations and received mediocre reviews across the board. Gitaroo Man is a 2001 PS2 title that later made its way to the PSP.

A collaboration between Matsuura and Yano certainly sounds interesting and we’re looking forward to seeing more.

We’ll update our readers when we have more info. In the meanwhile, let us know what you think.
