It’s a sad bit of gaming news amid all the E3 hype, as Intellivision Productions president Keith Robinson has passed away this June 15 at the age of 61.

The news was shared by the Intellivision Facebook page which posted a message informing everyone that Robinson died due to kidney failure and cardiac arrest.

It is with overwhelming sadness that we let you know Keith Robinson passed away today of kidney failure and cardiac arrest. His health had been declining in the last few months, but this was nonetheless a shock.
Please know that all of you Intellivision fans brought immeasurable joy to his life. Thank you so much for that.
If you have a favorite Intellivision or Keith memory or photo, we encourage you to share it here as a Comment or a Post to this Page so that our whole community can remember him together. #intellivisionlives

For our younger gamers, the Intellivision brand was synonymous with video games back in the ’70s and early ’80s. For his part, Robinson saved the Intellivision brand with fellow programmer Stephen Roney back in 1997 when they acquired the brand and its games portfolio for release on PC, and even development tools for aspiring game makers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Keith Robinson’s family and friends.
