Sony: The Horizon Zero Dawn Roadmap Is “Expressed in Multiple Years”

Discussing Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds at E3 2017, Guerrilla Games Managing Director Hermen Hulst said “it’s going to be very substantial,” and you can expect a new territory, new challenges, new quests, new settlements, new weapons, and more.

Asked about a release date, Hulst only reiterated that it’s coming this year:

It’ll definitely be here this year… we’ll have to pick a date for it. We’ll follow up with more details – not just on the date, but also what machines, what exactly the threats are, more details on the Banuk as a tribe, on the mysteries, etc. We’ll have a lot more details over the coming months that we’re going to spill.

In his interview with The Telegraph, Sony Interactive Entertainment America President Shawn Layden hinted at more Horizon games coming from Guerrilla in the future:

The reception for the game has been fantastic. Herman Hulst has got a very keen mind on where he wants to take Horizon and what the roadmap is – and that roadmap is expressed in multiple years. I think we’ll be in the Horizon business for a long time.

By pre-ordering The Frozen Wilds from the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Plus members can save 25% in North America and 10% in Europe.
