LittleBigPlanet 3 Developer Sumo Digital Acquires Art and Design Studio Atomhawk

Sumo Digital (LittleBigPlanet 3, Snake Pass) announced today that they’ve acquired Atomhawk, a UK-based digital art and design studio that was founded in 2009.

Atomhawk has previously worked on movies and games across various platforms, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Injustice 2EVE: Valkyrie, and RIGS Mechanized Combat League.

Sumo Digital CEO Carl Cavers said:

Atomhawk continues to build an impressive track record across games, film and digital media. Both companies will continue to operate independently with the acquisition allowing us to accelerate growth across the group.

Atomhawk Managing Director Cumron Ashtiani added:

This investment and strategic support enables us to realise our ambitions to drive Atomhawk forward – expanding the creative services we offer and the imminent opening of a second studio in North America.

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, and Atomhawk will continue to “operate as an autonomous business with the same management and creative team.”

Sumo Digital is currently working on Dead Island 2 and Crackdown 3.
