PSVR Shooter Arizona Sunshine Getting Free DLC, Update 1.02 Out Now

Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive announced today that their PlayStation VR first-person shooter Arizona Sunshine will be getting a solid dose of post-launch support which will include free DLC. Launching “later this summer,” players will get to play two new Horde mode maps that take place “in the depths of the dark Old Mine” and in the “Undead Valley.” The latter seems particularly appropriate for the game, since it revolves around shooting zombies.

They also detailed what the latest patch, update 1.02, adds to the game:

  • Improvements to aiming down the sights with the PS VR aim controller
  • Co-op multiplayer support for two-handed mode
  • Chaperone system to prevent ‘floating’ due to lost tracking
  • Additional control scheme options to allow further playstyle customization

Here’s what PlayStation LifeStyle’s Senior Editor Chandler Wood had to say about the game in his review:

Arizona Sunshine is a good game, but doesn’t hit the great status it could have had by being an earlier PSVR release. I have to commend the developers for putting a lot of hard work into making every control scheme feel good. It’s nice to not feel like you have to own an extra peripheral to play, but to be rewarded if you do. I was surprised that many of the complaints players had with the original PC versions weren’t addressed in this release, but I still had a lot of fun shooting zombies in virtual reality while listening to a nuanced narrative of a survivor fighting to maintain his sanity as the Arizona sun sets on the horizon.

Arizona Sunshine is available now for PlayStation VR and supports the PlayStation VR Aim controller.
