The UK’s Biggest Game So Far in 2017 Is Grand Theft Auto V, Has Sold More Than 334,000 Copies

The ERA (Entertainment Retailers Association) has revealed that the best-selling physical game so far in 2017 in the UK is Grand Theft Auto V, with Ghost Recon Wildlands and Horizon Zero Dawn rounding out the top three.

Citing GfK data, here’s what the ERA says were the best-selling physical games from the first half of 2017 in the UK:

  1. Grand Theft Auto V – 334,280
  2. Ghost Recon Wildlands – 311,792
  3. Horizon Zero Dawn – 286,538
  4. FIFA 17 – 242,385
  5. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – 204,778
  6. Resident Evil 7 biohazard – 190,545

The ERA says video game sales were up 8.4% compared to the first half of 2016, and games account for more than 48% of the entertainment retail market in the first half of 2017.

Overall, Ed Sheeran’s Divide is the best-selling piece of entertainment in H1 2017, moving 2.06 million copies. Rogue One is second (1.18 million) and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is third (1.03 million).
