Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition Releases Next Month on PS4 and PC

Next month PlayStation 4 and PC owners will finally be able to play a remastered version of Night Trap. Let that sink in for a minute. A new release of the infamous SEGA CD game in 2017. That’s absolutely wild in all of the best ways. The news of the release comes in the form of two new trailers by developer Screaming Villains.

Check out the wonderful release date trailer below:

As the trailer notes, the PlayStation 4 physical release (via Limited Run Games) will release on August 11. There’ll be a Collector’s Edition as well that’ll come with the following:

  • Region free Night Trap physical disc for the PlayStation 4 featuring a full-color manual, large fold-out poster, and reversible cover art.
  • Night Trap cassette tape featuring the infamous Night Trap theme song.
  • A 4-inch custom embroidered Special Control Attack Team patch on black ballistic fiber.
  • An individually numbered shrink-wrapped box specially tooled and tailored to be a throwback to the original red box Sega CD release of Night Trap.

If you’ve never played the 1992 SEGA CD title (I think you’d fall in the majority of our readers), then here’s an overview of the game via the publisher:

Night Trap tells the story of five teenage girls spending the weekend at the Martin home. As a member of the Special Control Attack Team, your job is to monitor the home and protect the girls using an intricate system of cameras and traps as it is being invaded by vampires.

Finally, one other trailer was also released entitled “Scene of the Crime.” Watch it below:

Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition is set to release on August 15 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
