Dragon Quest XI Digital Sales and Shipments Surpass 3 Million in Japan

Square Enix announced during the Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2017 that digital sales and shipments for Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age have surpassed three million in Japan.

According to the latest Media Create sales chart that we shared with you recently, the game had sold 2,099,203 units at retail in the country by July 30 (1,148,888 on Nintendo 3DS and 950,315 on PlayStation 4).

Dragon Quest XI released in Japan on July 29, and is expected to release in the West sometime in 2018. The game is being localized into five languages, a task which designer Yuji Horii reveals is a lot of work. “There’s quite a lot of text, so it’s an exorbitant amount of work,” he said recently. “But, we’re doing our best and working hard to get this game to all of you as soon as possible, so I sincerely hope you look forward to the game.”

We’ll update our readers when we have more info on the Western release.

In case you missed it, Square Enix also announced Dragon Quest Builders 2 during the Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2017 in Tokyo.
