Skyrim VR interview

Skyrim VR & Doom VFR Given Release Dates by Bethesda

Bethesda has announced that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is releasing on November 17 for PlayStation VR, and Doom VFR for PSVR and HTC Vive will follow a couple of weeks later on December 1.

According to the PlayStation Store, Skyrim VR is $59.99 USD and includes optional enhanced play with two PlayStation Move controllers. Doom VFR is $29.99 USD and requires PlayStation Move.

Fallout 4 VR was also given a release date – December 12 – but it’s a launch exclusive on HTC Vive. Giving hope to a PSVR version down the line, Bethesda said, “#Fallout4VR arrives FIRST on @HTCVive on 12/12, but we still want to support as many platforms as possible.”

All of this news comes ahead of QuakeCon 2017, which runs from Thursday, August 24 through Sunday, August 27 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. In the 22nd year of the event, you’ll be able to play The Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Quake Champions, Fallout 4 VR, Skyrim VR, and Doom VFR.

If you’re wondering what the ‘F’ stands for in Doom VFR, Bethesda’s Pete Hines said, “The same thing it stands for in BFG.”

To coincide with QuakeCon 2017, there’s a special sale on the North American PlayStation Store that discounts titles like The Evil Within, Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout 4, and more.
